Hotel Points: When a Fifth Night Saves You More
HOTEL REWARDS · 5 MIN · UK & USCompare an eligible five-night stay with a shorter booking, without assuming every hotel night costs the same.
Start with the full stay quote
Look up the exact room, dates and number of guests with the hotel programme. Standard and premium rewards can follow different rules. A nightly example is a planning input, not a promise that every night will cost that amount.
Hilton: check your status and reward type
Hilton’s fifth-night benefit applies to qualifying standard-room reward stays of at least five consecutive nights paid entirely with points, for Silver members or above. Log in before searching and confirm the full stay total. Do not apply the benefit to every room type or a mixed cash-and-points booking.
Marriott: the cheapest points night is removed
For eligible five-night standard or PointSavers award stays under one reservation, Marriott removes the lowest points night. For an illustrative stay priced at 40,000, 50,000, 60,000, 45,000 and 55,000 points, the total falls from 250,000 to 210,000 points. It is not automatically the fifth calendar night that is free.
Compare nights you actually want
An extra hotel night is useful only if it fits your trip. Add transport, meals and time to the comparison. Use the hotel calculator for a constant-nightly-price scenario; enter the actual stay total in your own comparison when nightly rates differ.
Common questions
Does the calculator model variable nightly rates?
Its stay-five scenario assumes equal nightly points. Compare the hotel’s actual total if prices vary.
Can I use a free-night certificate in the same calculation?
Check programme rules first. Certificates and cash-and-points stays are not interchangeable with eligible all-points awards.
